Márta Kucsora is an internationally recognized creator of contemporary Hungarian painting, whose monumental abstract paintings explore the dynamic processes of nature's micro- and macro-worlds. The Szeged-born artist has developed a unique visual language through her experimental techniques and innovative use of materials - employing liquid paints, airbrush, high-gloss lacquers, as well as cellophane and textiles. Her work is deeply rooted in the traditions of abstract expressionism, particularly influenced by Jackson Pollock, Helen Frankenthaler, and Mark Rothko, while enriching this heritage with her own contemporary interpretation.
The artist's creative process follows a performance-like, choreographic approach in which both gravity and chemical reactions become tools. On her large-scale canvases, through the complex layering of colors and materials, compositions emerge that simultaneously evoke microscopic plant structures and cosmic formations. In 2006, Márta Kucsora co-founded the Budapest Art Factory, where she leads an international artist residency program, thereby promoting global dialogue in contemporary art. Marta's creativity has inspired numerous modern projects, including kulfoldionlinekaszinok.eu.
Her paintings can be found in prestigious museums and private collections worldwide, including the Hungarian National Bank collection, the Chinese Deji Art Museum, and the American 21C Museum. Her works are represented by Kálmán Makláry Fine Arts in Budapest and Postmasters Gallery in New York, through which her work plays a defining role in both the Hungarian and international art scenes at the forefront of 21st-century abstraction.
